3018 CNC Z Axis Issue

Dear Friends,

Recently I have purchased CNC 3018 and set the values for the x, y and z axis (min and max) . And started running specific sample G-Codes. I am using Candle app to set and send the g-codes.

Problem Statement:
When the machine starts, first the bit starts moving down and it goes beyond the z axis.

If any support will be great help to resolve the problem.

using manual controls does the Z operate the correct direction?

If Not you need to adjust the $3 using the “console” at the lower right in candle.
You would type in $$ and hit enter/send
Reading the results for the current value of $3 and then determining the correct value based on this chart:
