Having consistent issues doing full depth cut outs. The number of tabs does not seem to be enough to support the piece. The piece ends up shifting and then the bit misaligns or ruins the work piece. I have resorted to doing an almost through cut and finishing on the scroll saw. I even use blue tape / CA glue on the bottom as well.
You could use the padding function, by setting the cut style to model boundary and keeping a thin Skin portion on the backside, then sanding that away after the carve is complete, either in a drum sander or even more manually with an orbital sander… Although with the thinner chain pieces, there’s a good chance they will break…
