4th Axis Calibration

I guess the last thing I would wonder. Are you using the X controller? Are your dip switches set correctly for microstepping that correspond to the same value in the calculation?

Here is my motor tuning and General Config…on the general config settings make sure you check the angular properties box for the correct axis (upper left on the config page).


Set all the same settings and the rotary axis spins 5 times and lands on the mark.
So I divided the value by 5 and it was 6.6666 and then I put that in there and its now rotating properly.

HI! This is my first post. I noticed your question because I recently bought a 4th axis and need to calibrate as well. I hit upon the idea of “accurate linear motion.” A MICROMETER!

Clamp a digital micrometer to your table with the spindle in the rotary head. “HONE” in on the number of steps until you hit a distance of 0.025" and then you have ONE revolution down to FOUR decimal places!
