Adding a second "locknut" to the eccentric nuts

Hi folks,
Just a suggestion that everyone both regularly check all nuts, bolts & fixtures as well as considering the addition of an additional locknut to the eccentric nuts that adjust the V-Wheels.

Thie thread below shows the results of a failure I had last night, the damage it caused and the locknuts I’ve added to (hopefully) prevent any reoccurrence…

Eccentric nut issue

I too have suffered this fault. My solution thus far has been to add a second nylock nut onto the bolt. This second nut seems reasonably successful (see images below). I’d also strongly suggest re-tightening and rechecking everything pretty frequently. Having had the eccentric nut/spacer come loose during a job, it’s now worn away the shoulder on the hole in the carriage upon which the spacer sits. I added a thin coat of medium to light thread lock compound to each screw before installing the eccentric nuts. All good!
