Adjusting Police Badge for Carve

Hey!

I had a friend ask me to carve his police badge, but the image he sent me has a lot of shine and glint in it. Any idea on how to adjust this image and prep it for a carve?

I opened your badge in MS photo and adjusted the color. I don’t know if that solves the problem or not for you.
