Try cherry as well, it is my favorite hardwood for 3d carves.

Sorry, bud. That’s the diff between real hard wood and poplar. Use Titebond II or III for edge gluing your panels together. The bond will be stronger than the wood itself. Don’t mess with biscuits or anything. If you’re buying S4S from the big box store, the edge should be good enough for the seam to disappear.

I almost always send v-carve toolpaths twice…it makes a huge difference and really cleans the cut nicely.

How big do you make this stencil? Is the OD the same as the outer edge of the material you are carving, or is it bigger or smaller? if so, How much bigger or smaller?
