Dropped bits are dull and broken bits. I am using a shallow cardboard box tucked under my XCP machine, which I pull out and set on the LHF corner of the bed when it is time to change bits. I dropped more then one bit and broke one when I decided that this would be a rule rather than an exception. I wonder if anyone has come up with a nifty slide-out, swing-up box for this purpose?
there are bit and clamp projects in easel on the projects page of this website… for the slide and swing thing, I’ve seen something like that on someone’s YouTube page, for a router table or something like that that drops down and slides in, under their workbench… I just use a lightweight plastic toolbox that I set on a shelf right below the machine.
