Bit slams into workpiece after canceling job

Hello,

I’m new to Easel and so far most things things have been working great.

I’m having an issue where when I cancel a job in Easel the spindle shuts off as expected but the Z axis then drops down and drives the bit into the workpiece and I have to run over to the machine and hit the emergency stop button.

Why is this happening? Wouldn’t it make sense to move the Z up after a cancel and not drive it down into the workpiece? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Justin

Hi Justin. There are enough post about the AutoCrash feature (fiasco) to fill a petabyte of disk space.
Inventables doesn’t even offer a reason why they add this movement to the end of a program.
