Curious to know if anyone has broken a collet. I am using the bosch colt. Just finished a cut and I went to change the bit and the collet came out in pieces. I’ve used it regularly for 6 months now. Is this a sign of unusual wear and tear?
Happens when you either over tighten on a bit that’s smaller than the collet id, or sometimes if you drop them.
How is the retaining nut?
The nut looks fine. Must have dropped it sometime.

You probably tight it without inserting bit deep enough. If bit goes half way into collet, internal jaws breaks easily.
