For me, they open perfect in a half dozen other apps. It’s only Easel moving things out of place.
The makercam open/resave is a partial fix except for that it removes any compound paths made in Illustrator.
This might have something to do with your problem. I find that when I import an SVG file, all the dimensions are off by 0.0111 (1/90 of an inch == 1 pixel) . I believe this has to do with the width of a line in inkscape. Different width lines are off by the width of the line. It is really annoying to have to adjust every dimension by the width of the line. Of course one could set the line widths to zero, but then one could not see the lines in inkscape.
I have spent the past few days trying to figure this issue out using inkscape, on my windows 7 machines all is fine, but when I try a file created on my windows 8 machine things get weird with the text and the sizes.
I am still trying to find the solution, maybe it’s a math error in windows 8?
