Camera for the X-Carve

I don’t like to leave the X-Carve unattended but when a job can take more than an hour, I sometimes don’t have a choice.
Next best thing to being there is a live video stream so I can check on it from the house/shed.
As I already have a Raspberry Pi set up as a wireless access point for the Linuxcnc computer that drives the X-Carve so it was fairly easy to add a camera module to it.
I 3d printed a case for the Raspberry Pi and an articulated arm to hold the camera module.

As you can see, it’s looking at the back of the X-Carve but enough for a status check, I might add a USB camera with a longer cable if I want to take a time-lapse of what I’m cutting.

Still working on that dust extraction …
