Carving on polymer

I am trying to carve on clear polymer as an award, but it keeps on melting and gumming up bit. I have the router set at 1 and used the 30* single flute bit (orange). Any tips?

your feed rate is to slow, increase up to 25 to 50 percent

increase feed, you can decrease stepdown (called depth per pass in Easel) if needed to facilitate the faster feed rate. Also, good dust collection OR compressed air similar to laser air assist can be incorporated to help lower temperatures and prevent the melting.

Can you be more specific?
“Polymer” could mean any number of things.
