Centers of text being cut out

I am trying to make a stencil for my union. Has anyone figured out a way to cut out text but leave the center parts of the letter. Like if I write LOCAL or STRIKE how can I keep the center of the R or O?
Any help or advice would be awesome. Thank you in advance

Add a shape, like a rectangle and set it to 0 dept and the desired size and place it spanning across the section you don’t want to carve.

Josh,
you might want to download your stencil font to your pc to us in your software choice and import it to easel.

I think he means something like this?
