Contest Entry: 3D Plywood Reindeer (https://www.inventables.com/projects/3d-plywood-reindeer)
I wanted to challenge myself with something a little different and since I have always wanted to give flat-pack 3D animals a shot, I figured now was as good a time as any! I'm not very fluent with Inkscape, but it ended up being not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. If there is any interest, I'm sure I could come up with a more general tutorial for designing a similar project with various other animals.
In the project I added my method for fine tuning the slot width for varying material thicknesses. The method can be applied to any project where an accurate cuts related to the material thickness are needed. Hope this can help others out who want to make similar things.
Improvements/Issues: I initially designed this to be much smaller, and so I didn't pay attention to the smoothness of the curves. When it is larger like this, you can make out the straight lines segments instead of seeing a smooth curve. If I did it again I would spend the extra time to smooth everything out in inkscape instead of sanding it smooth after the fact.
