I live on the east coast of Florida and hurricane Matthew knocked over a ton of trees in my area. I have 2 nice large maples down in my yard, and just finished bucking and logging 2 of 4 large oak trees a few days ago.
I picked up an Alaskan mill to turn the logs I to boards.
I am looking at one of those Alaskan mills myself got a ranch with a small forest here willing to part with trees for some live edge furniture in exchange out of the deal. I am sure these slabs will make some good signs after they are all dry and such.
That is somr jaw droppingly nice material there. Unfortunatly for me, am too far away to take advantage of some of it.
