you should be ramping in at the same feedrate as you are cutting with
not slow down when ramping
plunging and then moving laterally quickly is a good way to break tools especially small ones which most new users use
on a belt driven machine that will put alot of stress on the belts
with my big machine its quite the opposite because I use mostly compression spirals and I plunge straight down at 100ipm or more but as always I am giving suggestions on what I do with the x-carve
there is as a difference in feedrates
Lead-in
Lead-out
Cutting
Ramping
Plunging
and in this case I am just talking about ramping and cutting
but you can on the x-carve
you know phil we are going to need to grab a beer someday lol
in V-carve?
ramping speed is the same as the plunge feedrate in v-carve I wish they had a separate setting for ramping and plunging
cause when you are trying to ramp at 100ipm it will plunge the tool in first and then ramp it all happens fast but I can still hear the tool not being happy especially when doing slots
