Cutting a straight line

Hi Everyone - I’m just trying to cut off a 12" piece from one end of a 2’ x 4’ sheet of 1/4" stock that I have. I drew a straight line 1/8 in wide (I’m using a 1/8" bit) and 25" long, I can see it as a red line on the right hand panel in Easel, and I guess the fact that it’s red indicates a problem, BUT when I try to carve or even simulate, I get a message that there’s no object to carve.

What am I doing wrong? Seems like a pretty straight forward project.

Many thanks for any help.

John

Just make 1 line and cut on the line, the width will be whatever bit size you use.

I made a line, using the square at the top left of the Easel project screen, extending it to 25" and 1/8" wide. Not sure how I make just a plain line - I’m new to the X-Carve and Easel, so forgive my ignorance. Thanks for your response.

Thank yous, Sir. I’ve never used that tool before, and it worked perfectly.
