Can anyone give me any tips on cutting 3d in graphite … im trying to cut the 3d into the graphite rather than poking out … i can do it with images … but when i use 3 its always ‘facing upwards’ and when i turn the model round … there is nothing .
It sounds like you have a 3D shape and you would like to create a mold for that shape.
This is commonly done in 3D software by using a difference function. In software like Microsoft’s 3D builder, you could create a block shape with the dimensions of your graphite block. You could then import your 3D solid shape and tell the 3D builder software to “subtract” your 3D shape from the block. You should then be left with a new 3D shape which is the shape of the mold.
