Cutting half circle tray

I want to cut one half of a bowl. I’m going to use a bowl bit to cut 1/2 of a circular bowl. Basically, cut a bowl, then saw it in half vertically. I want to use this as a catch tray for a gumball machine.

The easiest design is to cut the interior of the bowl with a bowl bit, then change bits and with a second pass cut out the outside of the 1/2 bowl shape. Mission accomplished.

If I draw the bowl, then cut the shape in half in one operation, I would get small rounded inside corners on the flat side.

Not a biggie, but the optimum design is bugging me.
