Depth wrong and wood burning

I’ve Check collet and make sure it is tightened down
but there’s a distance between the screw
so everytime it start to carve, alway over Depth,and get burning smell

can you share your file on the forum

and also can you give me the dimensions of the material that you are using

from the pictures the smartclamp doesnt seem to be over the material? did you draw in easel and you put the correct material dimensions in?
