Has anyone run into a problem w/ their Derlin nut thread (female) striping out? Mine seemed to and caused quite a catastrophe as the entire z axis came crashing down in middle of carve. Luckily I was there to catch it before extensive damage.
Wow. Mine has been running for ages and has no appreciable wear or backlash. In the list of things that I’d have thought might fail, that wouldn’t be one I’d consider.
My original description wasn’t entirely clear…What appears to have stripped out is not the single hole that the lead screw goes through, but the 2 holes that accept the screw mounts for the Z axis carriage. Definitely seems like an odd thing to fail though.
