I have a terminal blood disorder, so been in the Hospital for a bit, but hopefully we should be good to keep truckin’ for a few more weeks yet …
So update, I have replaced the spindle with an Australian delivered Dewalt Router, and just had the first cut test today. MAJOR SUCCESS. The cut was clean and everything lined up perfectly.
I remade the machine pretty much, so it was a last ditched effort to make things work properly. And so glad I did.
The new belt tension seems to be working great, the spindle now has no dramas at all with the cuts, and did I mention it all lines up and returns to the home position every time. So good. I dd make sure that all the grub screws were re-loctite’d (that’s not even a word, hahaha) so I took all the advise and made all the changes at once. Dumb idea in the grand scheme of things, but it all worked out in the end…
