1/4 roughing 1/8 detail
This happens with every design I make and I’m getting burned out of trying to sand or chisel these down. I just feel like it should not be doing this.
The 1/4 roughing drills out the area, and the 1/8 drills the edge of it. I can’t understand why:

The 1/4 isn’t just going right to the edge of the raised areas since there is plenty of room, as well as to the very edge where it cuts all the way out anyway.

Why doesn’t the 1/8 detail bit go down the same distance down as the 1/4 roughing and smooth it out?
It’s not just this project, it’s all my 2 but projects this happens. I use the probe but have tried manual and with paper, same results. Any ideas?
