the DeWalt 611 uses a button and single wrench to remove the collet, there is no flat portion of the upper shaft to apply a 2nd wrench to. Maybe you can show how yours is different to what the rest of us have?
I found my 611in a junk box, you are correct. with a line wench you use it on the nut above the collet in the recess. now I’ve been using my water-cooled spindle .
