Thanks. I guess I just equate it to like buying a tool, DeWalt or otherwise, at a local store. If there were any issues within the guidelines, I would return and exchange it with them and not DeWalt directly.
I just checked and there is about 6mm left. Not too shabby!

I just checked the brushes of mine, 9mm.
My new ones are 13mm, not gonna wear out my spares anytime soon…!
@Zach_Kaplan . Turns out it was the brushes. The replacements I purchased worked. The brushes were miss installed, causing one brush to wear excessively, to the point it no longer contacted the motor.
