Dewalt Spindle Collets

Am I correct to assume, that the dewalt spindle only has 2 sizes of collets(1/8 & 1/4) does that mean that only bits and tools can be mounted with those diameters? or are there possibilities to have more collets?

thx!

You can get more. I bought the 4mm, 6mm & 8mm collets for my 611. Used the 4 & 6 a few different times this past weekend. I think it was from Precise Bits. Do a search for your router+collet. You’ll find tons of threads.

Lots of sizes available.

There are also other diameter bits that have 1/4" shanks. For example I have a 0.75 flat bottom bit with a 1/4" shank that I use for skimming my waste board.

Other bits that come to mind that are larger than 1/4": 3/8 keyhole, various V-Carving bits, profile bits, etc.

Check out whiteside bits. These are just the straight ones that have a 1/4" shank.

just get a makita router its quieter cuts better and will take any er11 collets

After my current collet adapter cracked (after hundreds of hours and bit changes), I just bought a couple of these HarVwam - couldn’t find anything like 'em locally. They look like they will work just fine.
