Easel and imp[opting g-code

Thanks to great support from the forum members, up and running with my X Carve - very cool machine.
I have had a couple of issues with importing g code. They are in .nc/Easel.
Question is: once into Easel, can I ignore all the standard settings in Easel - size and thickness of work-piece, bit size etc? and just carve from my imported g-code?

You nailed it, the import assumes you have all your setting right in the gcode.
