How do you erase an area of a project if you cant hilight that certain spot?
Hello Richard and welcome to the forum,
Easel does not have an erasing tool but you can delete nodes.
Select the object then hit the E button on your keyboard, that will highlight the nodes.
Then you can click on the nodes you want to remove and hit delete.
You can also edit the nodes when you select them.

You can overlay using a different shape set to zero depth, “hiding” the area you want to omit.
You can also do this permanent by selecting both objects and choose Combine.
Easel is like building blocks.
