I Got my kit from jjrobots.com and started building the stock design. I am making my own design with total adjustability, but not sure I’ll finish in time.
Very cool. It can do more than eggs though right?
It does what Phil tells it to do, no matter what.
Any sphere or oval shape.
Think plastic or glass ornaments
Ping pong balls
But mainly eggs! Lol
Just think of you enlarged your bot and was able to put design on vases or something of that magnitude
Is that basically a 3d-printed rehash of an eggbot?
I bought an ‘ostrich eggbot kit’ years ago with the vibrating diamond etcher attachment for glass. You can fit some big stuff in there
I used it pretty actively until I got a 3d printer. Even less after I bought a CNC
There are a lot of designs from simple to exotic if you search the web. You just have to pick your comfort level with building and programming.
Search for egg bot or sphere bot.
When you get bored manually changing pens, you can go this route.
Real men CNC their eggs!
Does that make them any easier to cook?
Made the red parts yesterday. My son choose the color scheme. Just the green arm is left.
My son will be assembling this. It will be his first CNC build! 6 years old.
All parts printed! That is one tiny spacer!
Where is my Re designed pen arm. The original was a very sloppy fit and the slot for the nut that holds the pen was too big. I also made it a hidden hole where you can’t see the not from the top. I added more material around the servo mounting area and I made it a clamp fit instead of press on.
It was a pain in the butt to get going But I finally figured it out
Must select the correct Arduino board in IDE to get the sketch to load
my case it was Leonardo
There was a file in the inkscape directory I had to replace with an alternative (eggbot. py)
Ok that’s pretty awesome and in a safe entry level for the kiddos to appreciate it
And it’s all operated within inkscape
Really? Is it a g code? Like how does it send the “signal”
