Is the resistor 1k? I just cut the file last weekend.

Yes the resistor is a 1k. I hope it works out for you.

For those who are not to keen to do their own PCB-work there are lots of 65mm LED-rings for cars that can be used for this purpose

Thanks. I am also working on a printed diffuser and have an SVG of the board that I am tweaking. Will probably publish the project when done.

No problem! That sounds interesting, would love to see the pictures when it’s all completed.

You might be interested in this. New low voltage LED light ring

If I bought such a thing, how would I power it via battery or plug? (I actually see some benefit to a battery pack.)

I do household type wiring, repair lamps, etc. But am clueless on this type of thing.

Those particular LED rings run off of 12v dc. You would need a dc - dc converter from 24v to 12v, if you connected it to the power supply that came with the X-carve

@DrewKasel - search ebay or Amazon for DC-DC buck converters, the cost “nothing” hence the “buck converter”.
You’d use one to regulate 24V down to whatever you need

I have been working on some mods to Jason’s design.
