Gantry Play

The dust boot is a little finicky to slide on. Sometimes when I push it backwards into place, the left side of the gantry moves back about a quarter inch. This can’t be good when in the final stages before hitting the carve button.

The right Sind of the gantry doesn’t move nearly as easily with manual force. I try not to force anything on this machine, but this discovery makes me think something should be adjusted.

Is it the belt? The V-wheels? Is there such a thing as tightening the wheels too much? I know about the ecentric nuts but haven’t seen anything about how to tell what too tight or too loose would look like.

My main cross beam is bent on my 1000 machine. Setting it on a flat surface it rocks back and forth like it’s twisted a few degrees. What part do I need to order to replace it? I could not get it to carve level. One end carves deeper. All trouble shooting failed to fix.

Yes. The markerside. I ended up ordering from UK. Only place I could find the same piece. Open source has some but was not sure what parts I needed.
