It Seems that the pieces you lay in last are cut first.
Get a scrap piece, and lay out one shape - square - circle, whatever,
then copy and paste it several times
When I did it, I numbered each one.
Then do a test carve and see which carved first.
then experiment with cutting and pasting different ones
I think you will find that your last piece moved or pasted it the first piece cut
