Holding Shift to Scale Evenly

I was wondering if it would be possible in the future to implement a feature commonly found in image editing software. Holding down shift when scaling objects would scale them proportionately. Thanks guys! Also nice job implementing MDF.

Hi Travis,

Easel will scale shapes proportionately if you drag them from any corner (without pressing shift).

I agree with Travis in the sense that in most illustration programs, it is natural to ‘lock’ the proportions by holding shift. It’s almost as though the intuitiveness of the function has been flipped.

Similarly, when on the shape tab, where you can specify the position, size and mirroring, manually entering a dimension for height or width alters the aspect ratio. A checkbox to lock the aspect ratio might be nice so that it’s possible to specify an exact dimension without losing the scaling of the object.
