Homing switches spacer placement

New XCarve… I looked at a lot of post but still no clear answer. Where to place the spacer for the homing switches? Z, X and Y… 2 inches from the end 1 inch???

so long as the switch is triggered before the machine hits a different physical stop, then you’ll be good to go.

For the X: I would bring it to the physical stop, then move back like 0.25" and mount the stop bracket thing right there so that It stops like 1/4" before hitting any physical stop…

For the Y: I would configure is so the spindle reaches the front of the wasteboard but doesn’t extend past it toooo much.
