Ive read and have gone through most of the posts concerning Post Processors, very few threads that help with Solidworks Cam post processors.
I need a post processor for Solidworks that will generate a compatible Gcode for Easel Pro. ive tried using Mach 3 post processors but they must still be generating a language easel doesn’t like or recognize.
Can anyone help me with a solution or a push in the right direction.
I see easel provides Post Processor for Fusion 360 or Verntric Aspire but I don’t have access to neither of the 2. I do have access too Solidworks and would love to be able to use it for Generating Gcode as I’m most familiar with it.
I am very new to CNC routing or Milling. I’m not very fluent with most of the terminology.
Googling for a minute, it sounds like Solidworks and Grbl aren’t happy together. One guy said to download as a DXF file. I have always used Autocad R12 as it is basic.file format. Easel will load a DXF file.
Id love to be able to use gcode rather then just using dxf.
Just using dxfs would be too limiting, i want to be able to cut 2.5D parts.
I’m saying convert your file to a dxf and then load it into easel to download the gcode file it creates. Easel will create your 2.5 d gcode from the different depths of cuts you select in the cut menu.
I just did this today from Rhino3d. If you want true 3d then you need to use Fusion360 or similar to get a grbl post processor, at least that’s what it sounds like from the minute I spent on google.

I think your right, very disappointed that it’s not alot more versatile. Solidworks is one of the biggest designing programs out and it’s not compatible? Possibilities would be endless if not for that.
