Import G-Code to a project

If you navigate to File and select “Import G-code” this lets you take g-code from some source and upload that to your project. However, once you do that you’re sort of stuck. You can’t edit anymore to add something additional. You can’t add tabs. You can’t scale.

You can click on the path simulation and watch it draw lines, but it won’t show you the simulated wood looking end product and it won’t show the the effects of changing bits.

I would like to upload some of the 3D projects that I make by uploading the G-code that vectric spits out. That way others could use my published designs to make 3D carvings of their own. I don’t have confidence that others will be served by the G-code if I can’t see proper results in Easel.

I agree, this is a massive shortcoming

this is exactly how every other Gcode sender works,… You’d need to import a design if you need to make alterations. You can do this by importing the SVG or DXF rather than importing a completed Gcode…
