How much can you increase the depth per pass for a 1/16th” bit? The recommendation is only .03 “ per pass but it seems like it could do more than that? Just wondering what the veterans push there’s to?
There are addition factors at play here such as feed rate and material.
If you are trying to reduce carve time I suggest you stay at that DOC and increase your feed rate gradually.
I have not broken any 1/16th bits yet but would expect that would happen before loosing steps on the X Carve with X Controller.
I run my 1/16” downcut at a 0.04” depth of cut and 120 ipm into pine.
