I just installed the y track for my new Xcarve and when I move the gantry back in forth one of my y-axis motors is making a weird noise
Make sure none of the stepper motor wires are touching each other and see if that makes a difference.
When you move the stepper it generates electricity. If the coils are shored (wires touching) it will act like a break.
After you do the final wiring with the motors wired together it will do this all the time.
