Hi Mike! Thank you for entering the challenge! Our goal at Inventables is always to support makers on their journey, no matter where in that process they are at. We hosted this challenge in an effort to encourage people to try Easel, whether it be their first time or hundredth time using the software.
Machine ownership was not a requirement, and a majority of the finalists do not own our hardware yet and did not carve their designs. Our panel of judges is experienced with Easel and verified the winning designs. If a design’s Easel file was private, we asked for direct access from the maker to confirm their project’s feasibility. We did not require Easel files to be public in order to win, but we encourage you to comment on their project pages and ask for the file if you would like to remake it. We appreciate your feedback. Here’s a link to the full contest rules.
