How do I tell Easel that my X-Carve is 1000mm x 1000mm? I can import a large file and Easel shows it all (after I include a larger workpiece), but only acknowledges the part of it that is inside the 285mm x 240mm area. I go to “Machine”->“Set up new machine” and it only tells me to download Easel, which I have obviously already done.
Well if you go though " set up" it asks there.
You can adjust the GRBL Settings too.
You probably want to change $130 and $131.

See Haldor’s response in post 2 to learn how to do it.

Did you select one of the x carves? I " think" after 2021 they are all 1000x 1000.,
I selected “X-Carve (pre-November 2021)” because that’s what I have, and it told me to download Easel, which, of course, I already have.
I guess I’d go and try the settings change then. I’d do a screen shot so you know what your settings are now.
Well, as I said, I cannot find any way to get to the settings. The image I posted shows what happens when I hit “Machine”, then “Set up new machine”, then “X-Carve (pre-November 2021)”. I appreciate your help, but I’m getting nowhere. Thanks anyway.
So you have never had Easel open up? If you can open Easel then you get to the settings through that. You click on Machine/ General settings/machine inspector and you’ll see the console window to make the change. like $130=1000 enter. This assumes you have home switches working.
Yes, Easel opens. I do exactly what you say, and nothing happens. I go back to my project and nothing has changed.
OK try this. go back to that console line and type $$ and enter it. That will show you your current Grbl settings. Scroll down and see what $130 and $131 are. Change them to the value you want them to be. You have to hit the enter key each time. Then to check do $$ again. Then restart everything.
Also make sure you have downloaded the two lastest drivers. They are compressed, so you have to expand them.
Now I am wondering about your home switches. Are they on the machine? Are they enabled?
I’m no expert here, but these are some rudimentary things I’ve learned along the way trying to get my own issues solved.
The issue appears to be that Easel doesn’t like my choice of browser. It seems to work using Chrome.
Thanks again for your help.
