N150 (Tool: V-Bit {60 deg 0.378 inches})

This may help

Ok I will take a look

I found it in this code

testatcsimple.txt (3.0 KB)

I wish there was a way to search just for the M6 Command in a large Gcode file

Like in a search bar type M6 and is shows you all the places that M6 comes up within the code?

Is there a piece of software out there that lets you do that?

Just load the gcode file into notepad on your PC, then you can search and edit

YUP just figured that out lol I wonder about the .tap files that I post from fusion 360 will note pad open those?

YUP it will lol sweet

thanks

just right click on the tap file and choose “open with” then pick notepad

I love it when people make discoveries on this forum. I like the ATC codes because when a load a tool path, it’s always nice to see the tool listed there - as a last double check before carving.

You should add it to the Vcarve tips thread, in case anyone else needs it.

i tried using Mach3 just couldn’t get the hang of it, its not the most user friendly program around

There really is a lot to getting it setup and working properly,

It’s a great help if you an get a working config from someone with Mach 3/X-Carve,

I gave up on Mach3 before I got my X-Carve (used it on a 6040) and use Linuxcnc instead. Still a pain to setup but at least it’s free pain

so what should a newbie take note off? I got my geckodrive and nema23’s today in the mail.

Did you get a mach3 config file with your purchase? If not, go through the gecko guide to get it hooked up and talking to the PC, and work through the mach3 tutorials on configuring.

That is if you are going the mach3 route…
