@PhilJohnson i was playing around with this in aspire. The program is estimating a 10 hour total carve time on a 20"x15" for just the top detail using the setting you recommend. does that sound right?
For your garage carve? That looks cool.
Looks like the board is about 15x12 real size and I’m gonna do each half separately so should make it feel quicker.

First one done being painted and second one that just has base stain applied. The 2nd one is gonna be much better

yeah I plan to make one as close to the original as possible. Hopefully before the movie releases, although I doubt I’ll manage in time.

I first stained the entire piece. And then used acrylic paints over the stain.
Layer by layer by layer. Blending with a dry brush.
I didn’t really use any specific technique I just went with the flow.

I think it looks dumb tbh, but I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt just for the girl alone. I have yet to see a good Rock movie. except maybe The Rock and that one doesn’t have duh-wayne johnson in it…
The original was smack in the middle of my childhood. S it’s probably going to be a let-down no matter what.
