Just purchased! Table/Stand questions

Treat it like any other table surface, so around an inch or two (at least) around the sides.

If you run channels in the table then you can also hide X-Carve wiring in the table too, for a cleaner look.

My table is a 2" thick solid core oak door. I also made brackets out of 3/4" x 3/4" x 1/8" thick aluminum angle iron. The holes that take the M5 x 8 mm machine screws are slightly larger. The 20 mm x 20 mm extrusions are generally very straight. So the straightness is transferred to the table top regardless of its flatness by the tolerances in the brackets. However, stiffness is required for sure.

Please forgive me if I am being overly obvious. I have very little experience laying out machines.
