Laser test Command M3 S1 gets error 9

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to start using a PLH3D 6W FX laser with my X-carve…

I’ve configured and connected my laser as stated on the manual. Power beam is red, Armed beam is red, I updated the easel firmware, GBRL…

So, I enter $32=0
Then M3 S1 and I get “error 9”

My values are:

• $132=100.000
• $131=750.000
• $130=750.000
• $122=50.000
• $121=500.000
• $120=500.000
• $112=500.000
• $111=8000.000
• $110=8000.000
• $102=50.000
• $101=39.830
• $100=39.938
• $32=0
• $31=0
• $30=12000
• $27=1.000
• $26=250
• $25=750.000
• $24=25.000
• $23=3
• $22=1
• $21=0
• $20=0
• $13=0
• $12=0.002
• $11=0.020
• $10=115
• $6=0
• $5=0
• $4=0
• $3=7
• $2=0
• $1=255
• $0=10

I would really appreciate any help, since I’ve been searching in fórums and I can’t seem to find anything about this.

Thanks in advance!!

Can you copy the console log?

I may be wrong but for your laser to work properly with your cnc you need to set $32=1

Thanks for your answer WayneHall,

To test the laser it has to be $32=0

With $32=1 it will only fire the laser if it’s moving to engrave

Thanks!

I entered Machine inspector again and I realized it was on status “alarm”

I moved the y and x position closer into the work table (a couple of mms) and now it’s in idle and actually fired the laser entering the command M3 S1

Oh I feel silly… Thanks everyone for your help!

Stay safe

That’s where I was going…Error 9 means you tried to send gcode when the machine wasn’t idle.

I just wrote another issue but suddenly I worked it out! Let’s see if I can get Lightburn working cause its not moving correctly. More reading to do
