Contest Entry: Gift Card Holder
I made a gift card holder for Christmas. The idea here is to take a relatively impersonal gift and give it a bit more of a personal touch. The piece is milled on the X-Carve in two pieces - a pocket the exact dimensions of the gift card (with a smidge of allowance for ease of use) is milled into one of the pieces, and a nice holiday design (a snowflake in this case) is engraved into the other piece. Then it's glued up, sanded for shaping on the belt sander, finished with spray lacquer, and that is that.

I thought about waiting until closer to the end of the contest to enter so I don't give it away, but then I realized that if anyone wants to make this and use it for Christmas this year, I'd better get it up here.
Hope this qualifies nicely. These videos are plenty of work.
