The project writeup is pending, but here's my project. It's a mahogany jewelry holder with acrylic mirror (protective plastic still on it), and I'll post a picture tomorrow with jewelry once the tung oil has dried. Overall, there's 33 pockets. Beat that, suckas!
"WAIT," you say. "There's only 4 pockets, and 4 does not usually equal 33! Kick that filthy liar out of the contest for being a dirty rotten liar!"
Here's the fun part:
Cut into the bottom are 28 pockets to hold magnets, shown as I was epoxying them in. The 33rd pocket is the recess "below" the magnets, which is for the cover shown just above the project.
Fun fact: Lauan plywood sheathing looks similar to mahogany, so I was able to use it rather than have to mill a separate cover.
Project will be made tonight and tomorrow. Too bad I have to send this in to Inventables, my daughters already saw it and won't rest until I make them each one...
