Make: Getting Started with 3D Carving

Do you know when it will be available?

No that’s not up to me

Just finishing my my xcarve build over the holidays: Preorder of this book made! Excited you’re releasing something on actual paper

I just ordered this as well. Looking forward to receiving this and Diresta’s book when they ship.

Made me chuckle that the cabin porn link has 8 hits

Amazon says March 25th.

Thanks for the link. There sure are some interesting photos on there! Bookmarked.

How cool would it be to have a carving “Cookbook” all the pictures and directions on completing a good cut. Looking forward to seeing this myself.

I looked.

I wonder if the files will be available for download?

Not the usual type of porn but whatever floats your boat :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Amazon is showing March 25,2016.

Under features and details.

Anybody hear when this is going to come out?

I’ve had it on order since December. Amazon previously had a March 25 release date, but now they are just reporting that they know nothing.

Just cancelled my order on this and a similar title. Looked like a great book but the original ship date was March 25 and now I see dates everywhere from middle of May to end of June. Maybe I’ll reorder once the outdoor seasons have passed.

It’s gonna be next year. Not sure where these dates are coming from.

We are reworking the projects to be more collaborative.

I can confidently tell you it won’t ship by then.

Do I understand correctly the title has slipped to April 2017?

Hello, I just put an order through Amazon and I will read your book with great interest.

It took 2 years to write it because I rewrote the whole thing after 1 year. I wasn’t able to work on it every day. I mostly did it on weekends.

I will admit that writing a book is much harder than it seemed.

I had a lot of help with the editing and I’m confident people are going to find some mistakes.

All that being said I wrote this for people who have never carved before. I think it will help them get going and connect with the community.

Some people at our company read it and said they learned something. I hope for people that read it and have done the projects or have more advanced skills they come away with one idea or learn one new thing that they had not before. If they don’t I hope they give the book to someone who is just getting started.

Having a beginners mindset is liberating. It’s easy to get wrapped up in what we know.

Stay hungry…stay foolish.
