did it work?

Can you do the following:

  • go to the “Home Position” (really work zero)
  • open machine inspector (ctrl+shift+D)
    -In the console, type $#
-paste results here along with Machine Position and Work Position (screen shot might be easier)

Got the project…have you done anything with the electronics?
Can you also post your GRBL settings (send $$ through console)?

If you jog 3 inches to the right, does it actually move 3"? Check the same in the Y axis.

no movement from $# in the machine inspector

It won’t move. It will report in the console something like this:

No homing switches?

How about the jog distance?
If you jog 3 inches to the right, does it actually move 3"? Check the same in the Y axis.

I do have homing switches, it does seem to move the proper distance

youre, right X is right, Y axis is moving too far

Did you home the machine?

When you send $#, can you make sure to get the G54 line from the console?

OK…send $$ and paste the values here. It’ll be a bunch of “$a = b” lines.

ok
$132=100.000
$131=790.000
$130=790.000

Sweet! Glad you’re going now. I was about to give up and go to bed & let @HaldorLonningdal pick it back up whenever he gets up.
For reference, those dip switches set the microstepping for the motors.
The $$ settings are explained here, and I was specifically looking at the $100 & $101 (X & Y steps/mm).
The $# shows all offsets in the machine’s memory.

Not sure when I’ll make it to TX, but I’ll take you up on that. (Pulled my frozen door handle off my car this morning)

Good luck!
