Can I have you G-code sender?
▢ Yes
▢ No
▢ Maybe
I would like to try this feature as well, please.
@Nicholas @NickHomrich @RickLaney @EvannDalton you’re all going to Disneyland and by Disneyland I mean you now have gcode import in your Easel accounts.
Thanks zach where should feedback be left?
In this thread unless it is about a post processor for a specific piece of software in which case you should start a new thread focused on that topic.
Very nice I just have to say this should improve work flow nicely and for everyone with the fusion rapid to first cut which then raises and lowers problem plus g28 issue this post processor should work great with easel interface
Easel could do alot more than people think with tweaks like this I would rather use easel as a gcode sender over universal and even chilipepper perhaps
Running into a problem with easel not letting me choose the correct bit size. I setup my tool paths in vcarve to use a .25EM and easel has the “other” option selected and automatically filled out .125" but will not let me change it to .25" in either the .25" bit tab or fill in .25" without switching back to .125". Any advice?
James
@AngusMcleod ha! Fixed. More like fat thumbs or aggressive autocorrect.
@EvannDalton what is the g28 issue? Why do you prefer Easel can you please explain more?
@JamesMurray when you are using gcode import you select your material, tool, and speeds and feeds in the program you are importing from. Easel ignores any settings it has an only uses what the gcode specifies. We need to make this more obvious in the user interface.
Sweet Thanks Zach!
@JamesMurray Tool changes are not allowed, so no more than one tool can be written to a file at a time. If you need a tool change export 2 .nc files and import the second one after the first one finished successfully.
The g28 issue when using fusion in conjunction with easel can be an issue when you use fusion and generic grbl post processor it trys to home the machine using the g28 command this is easily fixed by manually deleting the code in the gcode editor that fusion automatically brings up when you save the file so not a big deal
But as far as easel goes the ui is king when using easel as a gcode sender because compared to chilipepper or universal gcode sender because well chilipepper is pretty complicated for the everyday average user and universal is pretty basic amd personal I hate the layout of it
One of the great things of easel is also the checks that it makes you go through checks before you hit that carve button which will save someone a possible big mistake
I think with a few minor changes easel could be far better but its getting better everyday and really everyone saying that you cant do certian things with the gcode in easel that are advance they have to remeber that it is made for the hobbyists not the advance user which is why I use fusion for desgin and cam where you can do anything you want to your gcode but then run it will a good ui in easel puts the icing on the cake
I do think that easel needs to do away this the keyboard shortcuts to move the machine and make is possible to use the mouse as a method of control say perhaps:
Left button=y axis
Right button= x axis
Scroll wheel= z axis
Did you download the Easel post processor for Fusion?
Lol no but I heard there was one I just never did I just manually did it because I am trying to learn gcode so no fun when something did it for me but I hope with this import feature it will automatically fix alot of my problems unfortunately I wont be next to machine for a week a business trip just suddenly happened over holiday. …big mess…people freaking lol
Ha! When you click import gcode there is a fusion button click it. Then download the post for Easel and load it into Fusion.
You can mess with it on the road because I’m sure it is way more important than this “emergency” business trip.
I’m sure your co-workers will understand when you say you were installing the post processor for Fusion to prepare for your gcode import operation. It sounds like you could work for the CIA.
Alright I will try that and yeah I’ll just start screaming in the meeting “change to g21!! I know where in America but g21! Everyone!” I am sure everyone will know what I am talking about but when your the boss does anyone actually know what your talking about half the time anyways? Lol
Anywho yeah I was right in the middle of all my X carve upgrades so I will be hashing it out this week and getting you some feedback
I still do not see this when I log into easel. Is there an alternate URL I need to use?
Hi Zach, I have V-carve and would very much like to try out this new feature.
Thank you,
Jim
Hi Zach, Everytime i try to import a file from the VCarve Pro Trial Edition it tells me…"Invalid G-Code…Line one is too long…Any idea what i could be doing wrong?
I would love to have this feature!
Thanks guys for developing this.
@DanielBrice close your eyes, click your heels 3 times, and refresh the browser. Then check the file menu. (I have to add it manually because it is still in the early access testing phase )
@JimWilson @RickLaney @JohnHunter you guys can click your heels too.
