I should have V-Carve Pro by the end of the day tomorrow, and I’m currently using Fusion 360. I’d like to try sending G-code through Easel - that would be a great feature.

Works great! Used Rhino to model, Fusion360 to CAM and loaded up the result in Easel.

Out of curiosity, why does easel adhere to single digit G-Code, GX, instead of GXX? I was talking to Jeff from @picengravertoo about importing PicEngrave G-Code into easel and I had to manually edit each file to import it into easel.

Hi All,

I tried with Meshcam today.

Mixed success, did a small test with a coaster 100mmX100mm

If I export the file in mm (from Meshcam) and then open via Easel then the piece seems to be converted to inches (appears super small)
If I export the file in inches (from Meshcam) it seems to work OK

Would be nice if the mm work as it was a pain converting to inches.

Had problems. I created the g-code in MeshCAM and imported it as directed. It produced a very nice graphic. I started the project and it just stopped running after about 2 minutes. I took the same g-code and put it in universal g-code sender and it ran flawlessly. I know of one error I made: I left the rough pass checked and just entered the same tool for rough pass and finish pass. That may have been the issue. Unfortunately it will be a while before I try it again because mistakes are expensive. It would also be great if you allowed a tool change in the code.

I am quite a fan of Inventables. Not easy to get the results of a $20K CNC mill with $1,500 worth of parts and software but it is getting there. It is not for the faint of heart.

I will be trying to use Bobcad 27. It has its own editor. Can not think of the name of it off hand. It has many different types og gcode depending on the controller. I just got my xcarve running tonight but not with bobcad. I will have to try things out in a day or two. I will let you know the name of the editor soon.
